MBC

MBC is a public broadcaster whose major shareholder is the Foundation for Broadcast Culture, a public interest foundation. It operates as a limited-liability company and relies on advertising revenue to sustain its management operations.

MBC is the most respected broadcaster in the nation and has always ranked first in Korea in terms of reliability, popularity, ratings and influence. After its creation in 1961, MBC formed a national network with 16 regional affiliates nationwide and thanks to its 8 subsidiaries it has contributed greatly to the development of the Korean broadcasting industry. It is a multimedia group that currently operates 1 national terrestrial TV channel, 3 radio channels, 5 cable channels, 5 satellite channels and 4 DMB channels.
